Quilting Retreats

There are so many quilting retreats to choose from. If your destination is the Midwest you might consider Whistling Meadows in Greenville, Illinois. You can choose from two to five day retreats. They have a sewing room that is open 24 hours a day and also workshops showing you how to decorate with quilts.

If you want to go further south, just south of the Oklahoma border in Texas is the Retreat Inn, Bed and Breakfast. Here, they put on a Quilting & More Retreat Weekend. For $175 per person you can enjoy sleeping accommodations and five meals for the weekend. Here, you are also able to quilt day or night. They even have a licensed massage therapist on duty to ensure a more relaxing weekend.

If you would like to visit Lake Tahoe they have a quilters retreat which includes three nights lodging and catered meals for $250 per person. They have professional teachers for the two day class and only allow 10 people per session. You will need to bring your sewing machine along with the project you want to do and your cutter.

If you want to have a little more adventure, then you might want to take an Alaskan Quilting Retreat Cruise aboard the MS Oosterdam. This is a seven day cruise with professional instructors. You will be able to have day excursions in Victoria, Sitka, Juneau and Ketchikan. Besides quilting there will be plenty more to do such as dancing, movies, swimming and spending time at the spa. Of course, this comes with a price tag from $969 to $1619 per person.
