Are you thinking of taking a quilting class? If so, there are many out there and it can very overwhelming, but there are many reasons why trying one out may be to your benefit. First and most obvious is that there will be others there that are just as interested in quilting and wanting to learn. That will get you in contact with others that are also interested in quilting. This just might develop into a friendship.
Another benefit to attending classes is that usually the instructor has a lot of experience and will provide you with not only insightful tips and suggestions but can also provide samples of finished work, new stitches and other information to help you. With just these benefits you can get inspired and may even find a friend or two.
While there is a lot to the craft of quilting, attending a class or two may be able to provide some direction and step-by-step, hands-on instruction. When you create your first quilt, it might be nice to do it in an atmosphere where there are others there to guide the process along. Some of the classes for quilting are also offered by the local quilting store, where not only do you learn how to quilt but can obtain the supplies needed to create your first of many wonderful quilts.
One of the great aspects of the classroom is that it can provide an atmosphere for creativity. Most quilting classes have you creating a quilt as you learn, allowing for mistakes and for questions to come up as you are making your quilt.
