Quilting provides a great social opportunity. Quilters love to get together and share projects, ideas, tips and tools. Quilting retreats offer great ways to gather and see new places.
Lake Arrowhead Retreats in California offers a quilting retreat that is a real treat. Sit and quilt by the fire or go shopping to build your supplies. They have large tables for laying out quilts, cutting mats, a stereo system, and TV with DVD. Their sincerest wish is to make you comfortable and relaxed while you enjoy sharing your passion and pastime.
The Mason House Inn in Iowa is another great place where quilters can gather. Joy is a member of the staff who taught quilting at JoAnn Fabrics, and she is available for help, so if you have someone who is just starting out, this might be a good place to have a retreat. They also have a HQ 16 quilting machine available to rent.
Thunder Bay Golf and RV Resort also has a quilter’s retreat. It lasts four days and three nights. They begin with a large group square swap, project sharing in the dining area, demonstrations for quilting ideas. They have a large group sewing room, and they even offer horse drawn carriage rides. They have gourmet dining in their efforts to just spoil you during your trip as you make new friends and discover new experiences.
There are so many different retreats where quilters can gather to share projects, ideas, and experiences. They can relax, see new places, do new things, all while enjoying one of their favorite hobbies.
